South Downs Run – 31st August 2014

Organised by the West Sussex MG Ownersโ€™ Club, the South Downs Run is a scenic and non-competitive drive of about 70 miles along the beautiful South Downs from Bury Hill to Eastbourne in Sussex. The run proves to be very popular each year, with over 220 cars spanning the MG range welcome regardless of club affiliations.

Starting at Bury Hill near Arundel, entrants were given Tulip route instructions at the start. Four hours were allowed for the journey, travelling at a leisurely pace in keeping with the traffic laws prevailing along the route.

The Western Lawns on the Eastbourne seafront marked the end of the run, and ideal place for a picnic, with a superb Jazz band playing all afternoon.

The weather was perfect, and along with my nine-year son, Onur, by my side as navigator, (and a brilliant job he did too!), we had a fantastic day taking in the scenery, and of course, the classic cars ๐Ÿ™‚
